Hi ladies, I'm Sarah, I'm married to a complete KISS freak named Justin and we are TTC #1. (have been since October). We currently live in Western NC, but plan on moving to the Sevier County area of TN hopefully in August or maybe September. I'm terrified of moving from my home town but change is good! If anyone has tips to an easy move to a completely different state, PLEASE let me know!
Hello and Welcome! I have lived in 4 different states so I have plenty of experience! I left my home town to go to grad school 10 hours away and knew no one. It was very hard, but one of the best things I have ever done. Just make sure you get involved in something to help meet people and no matter how shy you are, be very friendly and it will be fine! By the way--I moved from VA to TN then to KY and finally to NC before I moved back to my home town 10 years later! I am Valerie, SAHM to Troy who is 2 and #2 on the way! Good luck TTC!
Hello Sarah! Best of luck TTC. My name is Kandie, I live in Oklahoma and have one DD who is 7 months. Her name is Abby. We're TTC #2.
I'm an Army brat and I have lived all over . . . well, never left the south except when we were over seas. I agree with previous advice- get out and involved. Volunteer, work (even if you don't have to), play sports, go to church . . . just meet people.
Hi. I'm Talia. SAHM to four girls: Kaeli 10, Kasslyn 7 tomorrow, Jaedyn 4 and Natalie 1. We're also TTC another. We just moved from VA to TX. Dh is from here so he's home. I'm from NY. We spent a couple years in VA. It was easy to move there, get involved with my neighbors and it was very nice.
Moving here was harder... but not bad. I love being in a big city, lots to do, lots of shopping, my in-laws. But, it's hard getting out and about. Maybe it's because there's been so much going on, kids have been sick, not a lot of neighbors yet. I tried joining a playgroup, but it wasn't "right" for me.
So, I'm not sure I have great advice. Get out. Use the computer too. Join something.
Even though I'm not involved in as much as I'd like to be, the move was good. I'm happy here.
