I'm sure the first birthday will be huge because we both have big families and everyone will have to be invited!!! Once they get older it will probably be small parties at the house with some of their friends!

I do just family for birthday parties until elementary school. That's when we start letting DS have parties somewhere fun with some of his friends. I did a party for him at our house this year and we had 11 kids at one point....NEVER AGAIN!!!! ONly 4 spent the night so that was much easier to deal with than the entire group. We don't over do it usually though. Birthday parties can be too expensive if you do!

Just family for Abby until she is old enough to invite friends on her own. My niece that lives with me has had BIG parties all her life so I guess we will continue that for her.

depends on the year... Saturday we are having the party for my daughter.. we are doing a pretty big party 40+ people... my husband built a stage and we are having a rock star party with a tatoo artist, a hair stylist, and we are doing a battle of the bands with rock band LOL
