well im terrified of heights therefore ive never flown and we have no passenger trains nearby so if we go we drive.we usually try to leave around midnight so they can hopefully sleep the majority of the trip.my 2 middle DDs get killer carsick so its safer then too
we go on vacation to FL every year and up until this year we have always driven. This past March/April we flew. As much as I am not a fan of flying, it actually went very smoothly. Up to this point my preference has been by car, but I can see flying being a possible preference in the future.
In the car we have DVD players, books, coloring books, Nintendo DS/game boys for entertainment. We took the same thing for flying but with it being a much shorter trip, the TV on the plane was all they needed.
