Let's start up a chit chat thread! What's happening ladies? Did you have a good labor day weekend?

Weekend wasn't as eventful as I was hoping it was going to be. I was looking forward to going to the state fair but hubby wasn't interested this year.
I have a baby appt. on Wednesday and hoping he can take a peek for the gender

not sure about gender. Doc said most likely girl but not to go out and buy alot of pink stuff yet cuz he's not really sure. Baby's legs were in the way. But I have another appt. next tuesday with a high risk doctor so I'm thinking better u/s machines. And my next regular appt. is in 3 weeks so I don't have to wait too much longer.

Yay!!! Can't wait to hear!
Our vacation to the lake was rudely interrupted by cold/rainy weather. We spent the night in the boat at a campsite next to the lake last night. It was still yucky this morning, so we headed back this way, planning to stop at a lake close to home. Well, it was STILL raining at that lake as well, so now we're home and planning to go out tomorrow EARLY and spend two nights on the close lake .

so I found a place that is giving me a free u/s tomorrow. Cross your fingers my babies legs aren't in the way this time. It's for nurses to practice the machine.

so the free u/s, they didn't even concentrate on the gender. They said they don't train on that. Then talking to my friend who is an RN she said that the doctor is the only one that tells gender.
Christen your right, Sept. 30th isn't that far away. Just getting excited more and more each day about this baby on the way

Yeah Katy!! I cannot wait to hear
Not much going on here, hubby worked last weekend and works EVERY FLIPPING holiday til new years which I could care less about. I haven't looked at next years holidays but I'm sure he works all those as well. I hate his stupid schedule.
It's rainy this weekend and is suppose to be for the next week. I loath rain so not lookin forward to it.
I also have a baby that does not like to nap. during the day I'd say we get maybe 1.5 hours of nap time. She usually wakes up btwn 8-9 am and then doesn't go to bed until after midnight. I thought babies slept?!?!?!

Tiring. Finishing up our vacation, then frantically doing laundry for DH (he left this morning to go to Boston for work stuff), then party with my old science department, then more laundry plus cleaning and grocery shopping today. Oh, and it was my first day of clipping coupons from the paper- I signed up for 20 weeks of Sunday delivery to see if I can become a good little couponer .
I'll be honest, I was nervous about DH flying across the country on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Luckily, he had an uneventful flight (other than a massive headwind), and he was even able to eat at our favorite restaurant when he arrived... Longhorn Steakhouse has SUPER good food, but they only exist in eastern states! We've actually considered driving to Kansas just to eat there... but that might be a little bit crazy .

My DH's family was in town. We ended up spending a lot of time with them and a lot of money. Watching September 11th footage on TV was sad, grandma thinks my 3 month old son is already teething and I'm not anticipating going back to work this week. That's the gist of it.

Yucky! If it makes you feel any better, everyone thought Jenny was teething starting around 3 months, but she didn't ACTUALLY get any teeth until 7 1/2 months, and there's no way she was teething that far in advance...

my weekend was uneventful. DH was at Drill. I was feeling down about not getting a job yet but today I got 2 calls in at once about interviewing this week. Things will work out at least for the school year/when the baby comes. I'll just have to figure out how long I can stay home before I think I should go back before the school year ends and I'll be back on unemployment. Oh to have a full-time job would be nice.

He goes out of town a lot lately it seems.
Nick flew on the 2nd anniversary of 9/11 and I felt that then...now I just feel like they do a good job and it won't happen again (it is good to feel safe, so don't start on it please...lol)

Did you have any sick days left from your old district, and did they carry over to the new one?
When I taught in Pennsylvania, my sick days carried over when I changed districts. Idk if they would here in Colorado, but I didn't have any left after Jenny was born, anyway.

I was able to work like 10 hours this week. Just glad to have something to do during the day and glad to be getting a little income

I did and they're supposed to but for some reason they aren't showing in my sick leave bank...I'll worry about that after I worry about my Las Vegas issues.
