Well, we are kind of accidentally trying the "big girl bed" thing today. I bought an inflatable kids bed at the consignment sale for camping, and Jenny was super excited about it. I let her play in it while she watched TV, and she still wanted it when she went up for nap. I decided it's a good opportunity to try the bed thing without spending a ton of money.

So far, not so good. She's at the gate in her room screaming, "Go downstairs! Watch 'Zoo Train'!" Drat...

hmm...my sister just took her crib out of her daughters bedroom after her youngest 23 month old took naps in her big girl bed for 3 days. Good Luck on your adventures. Oh and her big girl bed is a trendle and it's already in the room because my sister has 2 girls per bedroom in thier house.

Well, I didn't push it... I let her be upset for awhile, then I stuck her in the crib and she fell asleep. I don't know if we will ever take the crib out of her room, since Daphne will need it and I think they are going to share a room. No rush right now, though... we have at least four months before we move her!

The crib was in our room, that was the big difference.

I guess my sister isn't doing good with this switch. Her daughter and her have been sleeping on the couch. My sister seems to have a problem just letting her daughter fall asleep in bed. She would like her asleep then put her in bed.

This is my sister's last, this might be the reason she is struggling with all the milestones with this child. She struggles with potty training too

I dread all the new changes that will be coming our way soon enough. Right now I fight Kynslee going to sleep. She likes to be nursed to sleep and if I don't comfort nurse her completely asleep she'll lay in her crib and cry for a few minutes before finally falling asleep. But, I've been doing that more lately as I'm trying to get her to fall asleep more on her own then on the boob.

Kynslee's crib is a 3 way crib so once she gets to that "big girl" stage I'll just take off some of the rails and she'll still be able to be in her crib so I'm hoping that she'll eventually transition well but who knows. We still have a while yet

Jenny fell asleep on the boob FOREVER. I was able to get her to give it up during naps, but I had a hard time at bedtime, because it was a nice cuddle time for me, too. Good luck!
