We don't have family get togethers really, we have only Kirks' parents and his single brother here.

We will likely have them here on Christmas day.

2, one with dh side and one with my side of the family. We alternate each year spending christmas day with one and boxing day with the other.

2 this year if things stay like they are right now. My parents and dh's parents live 6hours away. My 1 brother lives 6hours away, the other lives 4.5hours away, my sister lives 2.5hours away. They all staying home this year and so are we. Dh's sister & brother and good friends of ours are coming here for Xmas dinner.

Now if mom and dad go to Kindersley for Xmas to visit her siblings then we'll go down there Boxing Day(oooh, a forum where people know what Boxing Day is,lol) and come back the 27th. It is 2.5hours from us. My 1 brother will probably go there too since he lives in teh same town as my parents. If mom and dad go and we go then my other brother said he'd probably go too. My aunts are plannign a big supper for Boxing Day since mom opened her mouth and mentioned a possibility of this. So we'll probably end up down there. This means chaos, mom has 2 brothers and 1 sister who live there. I don't know of mom's other 2 sisters would come or not(they're 3 & 4hours from there). IF they all end up down there it could be another 40+ person meal like the last family Xmas where it took 11 of us over 4hours to open presents(we do it 1 at a time) and that was just 1 out of 3 houses opening. Then we all converged together at another house for supper.

Last year my siblings and parents went to my sisters, then went to Rocky Mountainy House for another few days to visit friends.

This is why the plan is to go nowhere.

The other party we'll have is our annual visit with friends of ours, it's pretty much a work party since dh works with them but they were friends with them before they startd working together. That is usually Xmas eve. It's 15minutes away.

Living far away from family can have its perks.lol
