I eloped, to Dominican, only us, no guests or anything, no one knew until we got home. It was lovely but I do kinda wish I would have at least had a dress to wear (lol it wasn't planned I wore a beach dress)

I had a big ceremony and if I had to get married again I wouldn't.....I love my DH but marriage is just (IMHO) a very expensive peice of paper. If DH and I get divorced I wouldn't ever marry again.

We got married in Victoria, just the 2 of us. We did have a reception about a month later - but I kept that small too (afternoon, come and go). I would do it the same way again in a heartbeat! I just don't see the point of spending thousands and thousands of dollars on one day. The marriage is way more important than the wedding.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

We "semi eloped". We todl our parents on Tuesday we were getting married that weekend, & to just come out when the baby was born (we lived 10 hours away from home, & our son was born 15 days after our wedding). DH's gpa insisted on coming, so we had about 25 people there, mostly DH's family. We are having a renewal in a couple years, because I want to celebrate with my family.

ahh! its so hard making up my mind! The latest idea we had would be to go ahead and do it here really quick at city hall and then go away for a honeymoon with the money we get from our parents... we were looking at cruises last night! LOL But I think we will stick with Niagara, unless I can find and AMAZING trip for a good price and something we could bring DD along for free.

I love the idea of a beautiful beach wedding but there is something about a proper ceremony and reception that is special too. The dress, walking down the aisle, the first dance, cutting the cake etc. All special mments. We had a church ceremony and a reception at a hall. I do want a beach wedding but I think we will do it someday as a vow renewal, just DH and I. If it is cost you are worried about you can have a ceremony/reception on a budget and have it be awesome! Mine was done frugally and it was wonderful. Keep it small, have an afternoon/lunch reception etc. There are tons of great ideas!

I had the big ceremony in a church and then the big reception afterwards. I always wanted that when I was younger so I wouldn't do it different now if I had the chance. Yes it cost us a lot of money but in my heart that is what I wanted so I made it happen.

Go with what your heart is telling you Katie.

Look up vacationstogo My parents use it to book all of their cruises. Right now you will find a cruise a lot cheaper than a flight!

Good luck with whatever you decide. You have to do what is right for you.
