I was just wondering if someone could help me out because I have no clue. Here's the story.
I worked from August 2007 untill November 2008 and quit my job it was too much with school. Then In Jan 2009 (2 months after quitting my job) I go back to the same job after I was done school. I'm working there and will be untill June 1, just before my due date. Do I qualify for any kind of benefits once I have my baby? I'm due June 14th...
Thanks in advance. Also what number do I call to talk to someone? I'm at lost

Edited -> Can anyone tell me where the money comes from exactly? Does it come from the employer or the government? Idk for some reason I'm worried to ask my boss for a ROE and tell him I'm applying for parental leave. I'm just wondering if this affects him?

Maternity Leave in Ontario is through Service Canada. You have to qualify for it, there is a minimum of I think around 900 hours. It's actually EI. You apply online. Here is the website. http://www1.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/home.shtml

Congrats on your baby!

It comes from the government, and you shouldn't worry about your boss, you are protected legally.

I'm just worried he would be upset or something about it. I know it's dumb because I deserve it. I don't want him to think I only started working again there in January so I could get the benefits or something. I don't really care though if it doesn't affect him at all. I'm going to apply regardless anyways.
