We have been waiting since the beginning of the year to get our son in to see an eye specialist. He's got I guess what you would call a wandering eye. He's been to the eye doctor here in town twice since we first noticed it when he was about 8 months old. Both times the doctor couldn't see it. The second time back in Jan he said he would send a requisition off to a doctor in the bigger city an hour away, one who has experience in dealing with young children. We were told about 3-6 months. We've called a few times about it having taken so long and dh called again yesterday from work and told them look, we've been waiting and waiting and it's getting ridiculous. They said oh ok come in nov.
Now I have to somehow convince the obgyn office to give me an appointment I've needed since my m/c.. I only got the requisition sent out just over a month ago though so I'm guessing I won't actually get an appointment until Sept 2010, you know, when I'm good and infertile because there arn't enough doctors to go around and my problems fall on the back burner.
Have I mentioned I hate healthcare where I live? Thats the only thing I miss about living in Vancouver. In Vancouver I got the care I needed and here I have to beg and plead for the doctors to listen.
