I hope you guys don't mind if I ask a question. I'm usually in the ttc forums but no one is on right now and I need to know somthing. You have all been pregnant so I wanted some advice. I am going to the okanagan this weekend for Canada day to see my parents. My brother recently bought a boat and a tube so everyone could go tubing. My family are not the kind of people that normally do water sports and they go very slow when towing someone in the tube. (the boat won't go fast anyway) I don't know exactly what speed they use but it's not fast enough to make somone fall off or even for the tube to 'get air'. You don't have to strain to hang on or anything. Anyway, my question is do you think it would be ok for me to go on it if I'm pregnant? I don't know if I am yet, we've been trying for a couple years and I could be right now. If I am I'm only about 5 weeks along. I'd like to know now because if I shouldn't then I have to start coming up with excuses why not. We arn't going to tell anyone right away because of past losses. I need the 3 days to come up with a really really really good excuse because when my brother bought it I made a big stink about how my husband refuses to try it (he's afraid of deep water) and I don't want them throwing that back in my face. Any advice would be much appreciated. TIA!!

I dont see why not. You see a lot of athletes still doing their thing until they no longer feel comfortable because their bellys are too big. Your little bean would be VERY protected in there. That early in a pregnancy I think its okay. We got into a car accident RIGHT when we found out I was pregnant... our daughter is safe and sound THANK GOD!
If you do go, have fun!!

Mommy to :
my doula told me that for the first 8 weeks, since you might not know your body kinda creates a nice little cocoon for your baby.... it is safe in case you dont know yet. what about buying a test? maybe you could pull your mom aside and tell her in secret and make sure she knows that because of the losses your not saying anything yet.
