Oscar nominees led by Lincoln, Life of Pi - Arts & Entertainment - CBC News

I didn't realize Life of Pi was so Canadian-infused I keep meaning to get it on my kindle and still haven't.

Are there any movies you are going to make a point of seeing based on the nominations today?

I didn't know 'Life of Pi' was written by a Canadian. I loved that book. I would like to see that and Lincoln as well as Les Mis.

I saw Argo and I liked it.

The movies seem a little more 'popular' this year. Some years the movies are so uninteresting to me.

Most of the movies that get nominated for Oscars aren't really my type of movie. That being said, I did love reading Life of Pi. This will sound ridiculous, but when I was reading it (when it first came out many years ago), I thought it was a true story. I don't remember what made me think that, but when I finished and found out it was fiction, I felt like such a moron.

Lol, I check out the list, and I'll check the winners list the next day that's the extent of what I do, not gonna lie!

I wanted to see Les Mis beforehand, and even more now. DH saw Django, and really enjoyed it, I didn't go because its not my kind of thing.
