You have $50M and you must spend it in a week. What do you do with it?

can it be 'spent' in the bank?

My plan would be to put 25m. in the bank and leave it there untouched for a very long time.... to be part of our inheritance for our children and their children etc (hopefully)

give 5m. to the summer camp Dh and I worked at/where we met
give 5m to my parents
give 5 m. to dh's mom.
give 1m to each of our 3 siblings
give 100,000 to each of our parent's siblings (8)
Take all of our friends on a 2 week luxury vacation
Build our 'dream home' probably worth under 1m...
build our outbuildings, fence our property, buy horses ...(essentially finish all of our 5 yr plans now)
play games... like going out to eat and tipping $10,000 etc. surprising people for random acts of kindness with $$$ rewards etc.
anything left over would be distributed to different organizations that have somehow impacted us.
Create a few educational grants at our former schools etc.

I would build an arena that is made just for ringette where we won't be bumped for hockey. It would have nice change rooms that are made for girls with doors on bathroom stalls, walls painted in decent colours, garbage cans and air freshners. The ice surfaces would be painted with just the ringette lines.

Rent some kind of castle or luxury home in Europe and invite everyone who is important to me to come and have full service - maids, butlers, cooks for the week. Maybe have helicopters on hand - buy a ton of jewelry so that I could sell it afterwards.

Pay everything off, max out RESPs and RRSPs and finish house renos. We would fly first class to Florida and stay at a 5 star resort at Walt Disney World with the rest of the family while the house is getting fixed up.

I would find out how much taxes I would pay, then give the rest away and keep 1 M. 50M would be a far bigger burden than a blessing to me.

I'm terrible with money so I would probably hire someone to help me decide what to do with it, heh.

Do we have to pay taxes on it? I was thinking windfall like the lottery...although obviously I've never won anything like that so I have no idea The most I've ever won was $50 on a bingo.

I'd pay off our debt and our parent's debts, finish renos to MIL's house (would take less than 1M)
Buy 100 or so acres of land, build our dream house and farm (5M)
Donate a chunk of it to various charities (5M)
Put 10M into savings accounts for the kids
Put 5M into a retirement account
Open a maternity/baby/child store (2M)
Plan various luxury vacations (Scotland to visit some of DH's family, Disney, other places in Europe, etc)
Play with the rest (cars, shopping, etc).
