I just finished going through my seeds and I have a bunch that I don't want.

If you want any of these I would be happy to mail them out - some are older but I am sure there will be some germination.

Columbines - I have 2 piles - each have a barlow and a single plus a 'different type'.

Purple Sprouting Broccoli

Tricyrtis Hirta (can't remember what this is - you will have to look it up!)

Tomatoes
Riesentraube -unopened
Chinese Tomato
Yellow Brandywine

Ursinia

Red amaranth - these are my saved seeds - people always compliment them - they are a beautiful deep red.

If you want any of them PM me and I will mail them to you.

Tricyrtis Hirta - That's a toad lilly isn't it? Grows in shade/partial shade. Its purple spotted on a white flower? I'd love some of those seeds.

I think that's all you have that are shade loving, I can't remember about Columbines though, if they like shade I'd happily take some of those as well.

Can you tell my flower gardens are all in shade/partial shade? I can't grow anything that needs sunlight, and I've been looking for things to add to my hostas hoping to give my garden some colour.

Sounds good, Jess. Yep, that's it - toad lily. Got your PM.

My columbines are almost all in partial shade. I bought the toad lily with plans on getting it going but never got around to it. I think it may be hard to grow because there are only a few seeds in the packet.

hmm hard to grow, maybe I'll give my mom the seeds and have her start them, then bring them back and put them in my garden. My mom can grow anything, I can grow things that take care of themselves like hostas and lillies. She also has room for a better set up with nicer lights than I have.

Yep, it is an edible variety, Cris. As leaves or seeds. We eat the young leaves cooked and it is like wonderful sweet spinach - better than spinach.

oh I would love some then, please. Amaranth was on my want list this year but...there are many, many things on my want list and it didn't make the cut. I'll pm you later today
I'd like greens and grain - can it be directly sewn or does it need a head start?

You definitely want to sow it directly. Wait till the ground is warm, it is a warm weather plant. If you are doing the greens you can harvest within 4 weeks or so - if you let just one grow big you will have seeds to plant for ages. You can eat the leaves off the larger plants as well I just prefer the baby ones.

I never tried to eat the grains because I didn't want to put the work into cleaning them.

I'm glad you got them. I was hoping it would only take 2 days. My Grandma lives in in your city and I sent her Valentine's card yesterday so she might not get it till Friday then. Oh well.
