Are you still fortunate enough to have your parents? Are they younger or older? Do you live close enough to visit frequently?

I still have both my parents, but they are older. I'm part of that sandwich generation looking after my family and them.

We live about 25 min apart so we see each other all the time. But we're actually considering moving closer because 25 min seems so far away if anything should happen to either one of them.

My parents are funny. I'm going out this weekend to set up a computer and internet for them. They haven't had either since I moved out 10 years ago. My dad who is almost 70 had decided that he's being left behind in technology and because of his job he used to be on the leading edge, so now he wants me to catch him up.

mine are young, and they do live 10 mins from us. They also have a place in Arizona so they spend alot of time there.

We don't see them alot, they are not really into being grandparents.....

That's too bad. I've very fortunate that my parents love being grandparents, they are always asking to have the kids over even for sleepovers.

My parents live really close - about 15 minutes, and I see them a lot since my mom looks after my son 2 days a week. I always feel really lucky to have their help and support, although they have been talking about moving to BC next year and it makes me sad to know that they wont be close to us anymore. Still, they are looking at buying property in the Okanagan, so we would be very happy to make lots of trips out there

They are oldish (65) but they don't seem old to me!

My parents are super close - 2 min drive, or a 20 min walk. They are young (54 and 55) but I'm only 28 We have Sunday dinner there every week.

My dad still has both his parents and my mom still has her mom. But they live about 3 hours from us.

DH's dad lives about 25 min from us, and his mom an hour. We don't see them as much, although DH's dad was in town yesterday and dropped by after dinner.

My father died when I was four, but my step-Dad (I call him Dad) has been married to my Mom since I was 5, and both are still alive. They are young, and live about 30 minutes away. I see my Dad quite often and my Mom a few times/week (we work together).

Wow, you all live so close to your parents!

My parents are still alive and young (late 50s). But they haven't been in my life since shortly after I got married. But even if they were, they live 5 hours away, so we would only see them a few times a year.

I love that others live close to their parents and see them often. My DH thinks I'm a freak. We live close to his family, but only see them on special occations.

Wow, that'll be fun teaching your Dad how to use the Internet!

My Mum is 59 and lives about an hour and 15 minutes away and we see her every few weeks or so. My Dad died this past Thanksgiving.

Rich's Mum lives across the road and we see her almost every day.

I never knew my father, I know of him but don't have a relationship with him at all. My mom passed away due to a brain aneurism at the age of 42, when I was 23 So its just me and my little family, no one else.

Just wondered. I can't imagine loosing a parent yet. I'm an only child and really not close to my DH's family so I'll feel so alone when they are gone.

I'm very VERY lucky to have both of my parents. My dad has had 2 heart attacks, and my mom survived breast cancer. They are quite young. My dad just turned 50 this year!!! my mom is 47!

They live about 3 hours from me now.
