I've (mostly) kept a secret for most of my life (only a couple of people know), not a bad secret, but one that would upset a few people if they knew that I know. I don't know about the blabbing question, if it was something dumb, probably not long I'm generally very good at keeping secrets though!
I really don't know how long I've ever kept a secret. I've never had anything major to keep secret. If other people aren't supposed to know I won't say anything, but usually its things like a friend is preggy and don't want me to say anything before she announces it publicly, then it's no longer a secret. After a while I would likely forget about what someone told me.
The shortest secret I kept was my own first pregnancy. DH and I thought I was preggy, the doc had done a dip test and said yes but wanted to do a blood test to confirm. We had agreed that we wouldn't say anything until 3 months then we would tell family. Well the doc called me at work and before even going home and telling DH I told a co-worker!
