Do you let your kids have food and drinks in your vehicles?

We do and I've never thought much about it because usually DH is the one to clean the van. Well that job fell on my shoulders today and I just spent an hour cleaning out juice boxes and assorted food wrappers and plastic baggies and containers. I really need to start paying attention to what they take into the van and what comes back out.

I found a wide assortment of toys and clothes too, but that's a whole different issue!

A few times for longer drives, I've sat in the back and gave Cameron mum mums, but other than that, not really. As a child, we were never allowed to eat in the car, and I have debating doing the same...or at least only on longer drives. We'll see how things change once we're running between hockey games, baseball games, dance, etc. whatever our children end up getting into

Any time we go anywhere it's a min. 1 hour drive each way. usually at least 2-3 hours, so it's safe to say we regularly eat in the car, and will probably feed our kids in the car sometimes too!

My nephew's car seat is NASTY, it gets so dirty, and it's important to be careful when cleaning it to not damage the integrity of the seat (not getting the straps really wet etc) so I think I'll be careful to keep the foods/drinks allowed to minimally messy

I let my son eat in the car, and yeah, there are crumbs everywhere. I'm sure it will only get worse as he gets older, but I'd rather clean up crumbs than have a cranky, whiney hungry boy.

We allow them to eat and drink in the car, we're usually pretty busy so it would be hard not too, but yeah, it gets messy!

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one with a mess in the vehicle. I lifted out DS's seat oh man the crumbs that were under it from cookies and crackers!

We live in the vehicle somedays so ,ya we eat in there. We use shopping bags for garbage and most times the kids use them.

Is the bulk of it contained in the carseats or on the actual seat of the car? (hope that makes sense!)

For us it's on the actual seat of the car and on the floor. I have no idea how it all falls through DS's seat (I guess through the seatbelt slits) and DD1 doesn't have a seat anymore. DD2's is in her actual seat.
