bummer DD didnt like the class more, maybe its because she was the only new person, she might enjoy it more if she started at the beginning of the class so she wasnt the only new person there.

I did the Shred In August right before I got pregnant! I only lost about 6lbs, but I was much more toned, and had huge endurance compared to before... and now!

Today was SO incredibly productive! Woke up bright and early, drove an hour for an appointment with a different midwife (shares call with mine, so she may very well be the one delivering my baby) DH came along! (he's REALLY uncomfortable in that setting! He really wants nothing to do with the birth!) Then we went to have our taxes done, he got a decent return, I got a small return (I also haven't been employed for a full year now!) but turns out last year I owed CRA about $250 that no one told me about, so with interest it ate up about half my return! I was a little annoyed because I paid to have the 'expert' do my taxes, and they never said anything, and I NEVER recieved anything in the mail from CRA.... either way I paid what was owed and left it at that!
Then we went to sears to look at washers and dryers. I really wanted a specific model, but stumbled across a sale on floor models of a different (also decent brand) that had similar features, & pedestals for free! After an extended warranty, and tax etc, it came to within $30 of what I had budgeted for pre tax, pre fee set with no pedestals! I'm really excited, we get them tomorrow!

Then we went to Wal Mart, and picked up the only glider they had there... it was the cheapest available online anyways, not the most comfortable thing in the world, but it really was just a get it and hopefully use it once in a while purchase!

Wow that's a bit of a novel, but I had a super busy day and I'm ready for bed about an hour ago!

DH is going to drive me crazy. He agrees to things and then when I tell its time to go, or what I'm doing that day or whatever he looks at me with a blank stare and tells me that I never told him about it. Then he gets mad because it isn't what he wanted to do. Like today with the 4 showings, I made plans for DS and I for the afternoon, and for all of us for supper. All DH has to do is find a place to go sleep for the afternoon so he can work tonight. Now all of a sudden he's mad at me because he thought he was going to stay up all day and go out with DS and I, but he doesn't want to do what I planned to do, he doesn't like the plans I made for supper either and tells me I never told him about them. Meanwhile we talked about it twice last night! Sometimes I seriously feel like I'm talking to myself. He's as bad as the kids for not listening.

Well, Oso is over so DS is going to be getting into things again anytime now, so I'm off and running for the day. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

I'm sorry she didn't enjoy the class as much. Does she want to go to the next class? I agree it might be because she's the newest. Do they have somewhere parents can watch? If she might consider trying another one, it might help with you watching. My DH is the same as yours...I've started texting him plans and such while he's at work so I have a written record its helped him to realize I wasn't making everything up and he defers to me a lot assuming he forgot!

I took pictures and measurements on April 1...I'll take pictures and measurements on May 1, and show you and you guys decide! I've only lost 3lbs, but I've plateaued for almost 6 weeks, so didn't lose anything until more than halfway through the month. My clothes fit a bit differently too. And my endurance has improved significantly. I say it was totally worth it!!! Hopefully the pictures don't lie!

Yay for a new washer and dryer!!!! I want new ones, but don't need them. I want a front loader, so when we replace what we have, I plan to get a front loader. I wish we had a glider. I have an old school rocking chair and it sucks at 3am.

Thunderstorms this afternoon apparently! Can't wait!

Cloudy and cold here! DH turned off the heat for me the other night (I've been begging for weeks!) This morning I heard a yelp, from the bathroom... apparently our toilet seat is really cold! and a "The plates are frozen!!!" from the kitchen... it's not that bad, but he's bundled up in a hoody etc, and I'm in a tank top... I'm honestly loving this weather!

Cold and rainy here. I'm not enjoying it at all. I still have my electric blanket on my bed.

I'm encouraging DD2 to go to the second class, and I've contacted a couple of other schools with different kinds of dance in the area to see if she likes something better. If she decides she wants to do it I'll wait and sign her up in September so she can start with a new class and they will all be beginners at the same time. Parents don't get to watch, but for the beginner class the teacher brings us into the room for the last 10 minutes or so and they show us what they learned that day.

It's a lot warmer here now, not hot or anything, but warm enough to go outside without a coat- and it finally stopped raining this afternoon!

I hope you can find something that your DD likes more. Alyssa's class is one where the parents sit and watch and I find it so distracting for the kids. It's nice to be able to watch, but I feel like they would learn a lot more if there weren't 30 parents in the room!

Cleaned and did school all day, just finished my squats challenge for the day (165- ouch!), and the shepherd's pie is almost ready for supper

We had thunderstorms, and hail!

I did 220 squats today Chantelle! I am amazed! And that parents can stay in the room? As an instructor I'd find that super distracting as well!

Just watched the new Big Bang Theory, and waiting for Greys! Will watch Big Brother tomorrow.

Awesome job on the squats! I was curious and added up the last day of my 6 wk challenge and apparently I'll be doing 390

I hope you can get to the zoo while your DH is off!

It's really nice and sunny here today, 16 degrees! Just came in from playing volleyball outside with the kids

That's great that you were able to stay on budget with your washer/dryer, Kalynn. That's a good feeling.

Wow, 220 squats. That's some awesome endurance, Jess!

I was happy on Wednesday at the gym that I am working back up on my deadlifts. I strained my back last month but it's all good now. I just have to remember to maintain good form!

I have spent a few hours outside in the garden. I am almost done digging over the side beds and straightening out some of the front garden. I am getting a load of sheep manure from the farm on Sunday so I want to just be able to run around with the wheelbarrow and dump them on prepped beds.

Theo gets so tired when we are outside. He is napping right now. His second one of the day. I bet he will have another later since I want to go out and do some more digging before evening and he will get tired out again.

I'm almost done my 30 days squat challenge - I started Apr 1, and on Apr 30, I'll do 250

Glad everyone's weather seems to be on the upswing!

Nice relaxing night, nothing going on Possibly considering having a bonfire tomorrow night!

Had a doctor's appointment for DD1 this morning, DH is really not happy with the way it went. We've been trying to get help for her behaviours for years now, finally got a family doctor to listen to us and she sent us to a specialist to help. The specialist has recommended some medication and DD1 wants to try it, DH is strongly against it. I said that DD1 should get some say in her own treatment plan, she's 9 and it's her body that will have to deal with any side effects and such. The doctor agreed and now DH is mad. The thing is, we've already tried most if not all of other treatment options that don't include medication and I'm at my wits end, I just wish DH was on board with this.

That's a lot of squats! WTG!!

Sounds like we all got a bit of a break in the weather and took time to enjoy it today.

Sorry your Dh is being difficult. I hope you can come to some agreement, and that if you do decide to medicate, that they will help DD1.

The medication is just a low dose trial, we're to try it for 2 weeks and see if it helps at all, if not we're to stop it until we go in again next month. I made the decision based on what the doctor was telling us and what DD1 wants to do, but let me tell you I am second guessing myself. I'm seriously having one of those mommy moments where I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. Where's the mommy handbook when I need it?

A two week trial sounds like a good place to start. My nephew is 7 and they started him on medication this school year and it has made a world of difference. All children are different, it sounds like you've tried other things that haven't worked, so this is the next one on the list. All you can do is try.

I pooped in to Once Upon a Child today....they had dance clothes...I should have thought of that before when you were looking Caroline!

Norwex party tomorrow...I'm getting the mattress spray and the kitchen cloths for sure!!!! We'll see what else

I didn't think of Once Upon a Child either. That would have been a good place to look. I contacted a Highland dance school and DD1 has been invited out there to take a tour and watch a class. The school has no beginner classes starting right now, so DD2 can't join in, she would just be too far behind, but she can watch and meet the teacher. DH is really hoping she likes this one, he's Scottish and wants her to try this.

I'm sticking with my decision to give the meds a try. Over the past 4 years we've tried just about everything else from behaviour specialists to child physiologists and have used every suggestion ever given to us from limiting certain foods, to timers, to charts and rewards. We have used physical force to get her to do what she needs to do, as in picking her up and putting her where she needs to be and hand over hand not as in beating her, and have tried just letting her be and doing whatever she gets done on her own and suffering the consequences. What else is a mom to do?
