GO Cam GO!

Mom lent me her laptop and internet stick for the night so I'd have something to do after the kids went to bed. We painted 3 rooms today, one needs a second coat the other two are good to go. The girls have been having a blast exploring the neighbourhood and meeting new friends. I've met most of our new neighbours, turns out the girl two doors down from us is a girl I used to babysit when she was DD2's age. She just moved in 2 weeks ago. The family across the street we used to go to church with and the mom babysat me when I was little. I love moving back home.

We have 6 gardens in our yard! All are going to need a lot of work, the previous family has done nothing with this since fall. So far I've found among the weeds, 4 rose bushes and 8 raspberry bushes. One garden is all Hostas and weeds, but they don't count. Two gardens look like they could have been vegetables at one time and there are onions and leeks growing, that I'm guessing were left from last fall. There's another plant growing in the one garden at least it looks like it belong there since there are 6 or so of them all in a row but I don't know what it is yet. The grass when we got here was crazy long, we had to go slow not to clog the lawnmower that it took forever to cut and we just kept trading off who was cutting. It seems like there is so much work to get done, but at the same time, I'm loving being here.

On a funny note, DS woke up this morning in his new room calling for me. It went something like this, "mama, mama! MAMA, Where am I??" All I could do was laugh as I went to get him.

Sorry for the long post, have a great rest of the weekend ladies!

What a great post!!!!

You are super productive!!!!

That is similar to our house when we moved in...there was actually a row of 4 sumac trees on the property line between us and the neighbours, and then this long grass stuff in between...we have pictures and its so overgrown you can't even tell there is a house behind it, it looks like the begining of a forest. Our front lawn is maybe 12 feet wide at the widest point (we are on a pie shaped lot, our backyard is huge). DH cleared everything away the first week and neighbours came over and thanked him for cleaning up the eyesore! But we're still battling everything coming back. Right now a lot of work still needs to be done (we moved in in Sept, and then I got pregnant so haven't had the extra cash) but it will look fantastic next year! Oh and like a month ago he took down the 'tree' in the front yard because it was in the way...I was p'd off at the time, but when they were pulling out the roots...our neighbour (who loves to garden) thinks it was an overgrown weed that grew into a tree? Is that even possible? We still have the roots in the backyard drying out so we can put them in the fire, I'll have to take a picture!

Hope you have another productive day Caroline!

That sounds about right. Our neighbours to the one side of us, a lovely retired couple, came over and said how much better the place looked and offered to lend us anything we needed to help clean up, I'll be working all summer to get it looking the way I'd like it to. They seem to love to garden too, they have some beautiful ones in their yard along with an amazing pond that has croaking bullfrogs.

Today won't be productive at all. We're cleaning up here a bit, then to my parent's to see Dad for lunch, home to wake and see DH then to DH's parent's for supper. Monday we'll get productive again. This also gives my poor sore muscles a chance to rest, I'm not used to physical labour.

fair enough. Yesterday was my productive day too...I swept, microfibred, and washed all the floors, cleaned all 3 bathrooms, 6 loads of laundry...today we relax!

Might go to the park later as long as its not raining (it poured all morning so far).

We went to the park! It was super fun. We brought Bama with us, and literally the entire time, people kept coming up to us to pet her and ask about her. So we ended up going for a walk after like 20 mintues lol.

So I don't know if I've mentioned on here, DH's uncle's girlfriend's daughter had a little girl 6 days after Cam. EVERYTHING seems to be a competition with her (all on her part, I could care less). Guess who is apparently walking all over today but she can't get a video. Hmmm. I've put her on limited profile now so she can't see what else I post. I don't want to cause a stir by deleting her but seriously.

Dinner with the inlaws ended early, we were under a tornado warning so we all took off home for our basements. It's been downgraded to a watch now so I've sent the kids to bed. I was ready to leave anyways. DH's older sister was driving me crazy, she doesn't believe the diagnosis we got for DD1 and was telling everyone, right in front of DD1, that there's nothing wrong with her she just doesn't want to listen and how if she was her kid she'd "fix" her.

You've gotta love competitive parents.

We're under a thunderstorm watch...but I'm looking at blue skies! So weird!

That was very rude of your SIL. Is she a certified pediatrician? No? Than she should keep her mouth shut! Especially in front of your DD...I'm sure she doesn't feel great about it already!

Absolutely nothing on TV...so DH went next door to have a few beers with the neighbour lol.

I agree there's nothing on tv. I actually turned on Highschool Musical.

We had a pretty decent thunder storm complete with hail, about 45 min after the storm ended the tornado watch got down graded again to a sever thunderstorm warning. It's super dark and dreary now but everything has stopped, and there are no more warnings.

how rude of your SIL! i cant stand people like that, seriously what does she think your docs and specialists would lie to you about her hearing!

crazy weather yesterday! we drove to my ILs in terrible rain, but it ended up clearing up, the kids had a great afternoon playing at the park and the sprinkler, we got some more rain last night too, but it was just a thunderstorm, sounds like it was a lot worse down your way!

Boo. Hope you get to use it tomorrow Chantelle.

It still says thunderstorms...but its a mostly blue sky. I haven't taken Cam and Bama to the park since I don't want to get there and have it start pouring lol.

I mudded all the holes in the playroom, and most of the holes in the spare room. DH needs to still remove a bunch of bits of wallpaper that I didn't notice he left. To sand tonight! And perhaps buy paint this week

Exciting Jess!

So, I've decided to start selling Glow Bug Diapers. A friend has been asking me to sell with her, and I finally caved. I'll do that in all my free time

'spare time' Chantelle??? That's exciting.

Epicure is mostly spices and such, soup bases, dressings, etc. They are gluten-free and low sodium. Epicure | Recipes, Herbs, Spices, Dips, Cookware. I love making the chip and veggie dips, my mom looooves the chicken soup base...nom nom nom.
