I think it's a start, but it's still disgusting what cell companies can do legally.

Last year I was part of a ctv story about getting out of my contract, and I am so glad I agreed to be part of it because I ended up getting out because of it. http://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/consumerw...egies-1.777716

I am so disappointed, we live in an area with no cell service, having a cell in the city can cost up to $80/month, and yet while my husband was in afghanistan everyone and their donkey had 2 cells each, and no troubles with service! I mean these people can't even afford to feed their families, but they can afford 2 cell phones? Something is very very wrong with how much we are charged!

And that's the problem, they'll just make the initial costs more now and there will be no incentives for staying with a company. I still can't figure out why the plans are so expensive. There's no way these companies are going to loose money, the consumer is just going to be screwed in a different way.

I agree that it's a good start, but I also agree that cell phone companies will just find a way around it

That's good. I worked collections for TELUS and I hated trying to collect on termination fee balances.
