We werent going to, but I was SO over roasting and pureeing pumpkins so I made a little jack o lantern for Arthur. We just have pie pumpkins, so it's itty bitty just like him. Next year we plan to expand our pumpkin growing operation, and I think we'll carve or paint a few for display! We dont really get trick or treaters so it's only for our own enjoyment!
We have 6 carved so far, I want to get 2 or 3 more done, likely Wednesday I'll get those done.
I love Halloween, the decorating, the pumpkins the costumes. I'm still missing a tote of Halloween decorations from our move, hopefully we'll find it tomorrow. Usually we have strobe lights and fog, and all sorts of fun things!
For anyone with toddlers or preschoolers I was just reading about sensory activities where you spread the pumpkin guts out on the table, and also let them play with a bowl of pumpkin puree! Sounds like messy good fun!
Oh yeah! Andrew loves pumpkin guts! My girls won't touch the inside of a pumpkin, but he had his hands right in there separating seeds, squishing the guts, playing with the cut out parts, he had a blast!
LOL! Bree you sound like my DH. Around here I have to cut off all the tops and clean out all the pumpkins then the family will carve them. I also have to separate and wash all the seeds, roast them then the family will eat them. Not sure why I have to do all the hard work for them to have fun, but I do.
