Does anyone know of any GTA or area couples who shared parental leave? I am a mom of 2 and PhD student (UofT - Sociology) doing my dissertation on fathers that take parental leave for at least 6 weeks. There is very little research in Canada about this trend and I seeking couples who would like to share their story and perceptions about the experience. The time commitment is somewhat lengthy (2+ hrs) but it would be a great help to me and to growing the academic literature on this subject. Plus I am sure you all know how easy (and interesting!) it is to discuss your kids and parenting choices. Also doesn't hurt that I will bring a bottle of wine (or dessert) as my thank you for participating. Please feel to reply here or pm me if you or someone you know might be interested in participating. Many Thanks!

Thanks for your reply!
For the purposes of my research, it is best that I meet with participants face-to-face. Where do you live now? I can travel about an hour or so from Toronto if that would help. If you prefer to discuss by email please reply to email@example.com
My friend's DH is taking about 8-10 weeks at the end since she has built up vacation. Not sure if she'd be interested. We're on the outskirts of your 1 hour boundary but I bet they'd be more receptive to skype as an option. But he hasn't taken it yet, he will in June/July 2014.
Thanks for all the replies!
At this point I prefer in-person interviews because the first meeting is with the couple, so the dynamic is more difficult to capture over Skype, especially since there are a couple interactive activities that make up the interview. I am definitely considering expanding later on, so if that works out I will follow up with you all. I am hoping to finish up this stage of the interviews by the end of December, so only looking for dad who are currently taking/recently took leave. But thanks again to everyone for their support
