Sounds like things went well for you! Its all well and good to be personable, but you still have to do the job, and keep focused at the task at hand so sounds like you did great! It sucks that we're headed into the holidays and you have to wait. Why do you need a TB test? That's awesome she was able to recommend places and give you a heads up.

Ugh. Weather is not looking good for tomorrow here.

Everyone who goes into group homes or seniors homes needs a TB test. It's pretty standard in Social Service work.

It was just all so odd, but yes, it seems to have worked out well for me, not sure it's going to work out so well for some of the others. I don't want to start working before the new year anyways, so I'm OK with waiting. It was a good first interview, even if I don't get the job, it was a nice confidence boost reminding myself that I can do this.

I'm glad! The first one is always the hardest. Still not pleasant in my experience though.

You can do this!!!!

So....we`re doing a 'Christmas Party' in my PR again tomorrow...just as a heads up in case something gets posted in here again lol.

Basically me and the other girl that planned it chatting. Two others have briefly popped in...we had over 800 posts I think in less than 12 hours last year....this year we finally just broke out page 2....

So sad that JM is dying

Yeah, my PR is pretty dead too. It's sad because we were such a chatty group of women.

I called to book my TB test, the nurse said she thought I had a pretty good shot at the job if they were telling me to go get the test at the first interview.

Question for those in the working world, do people still send notes, or emails, to thank the interviewer and company for the interview? I don't want to seem desperate or old fashioned, but I know it was something we were taught in college.

I haven't interviewed in over 2.5 years, but my friend (who I am a reference for) sent thank you emails, and it is very much appreciated since it has gone out of practice and can help you stand out more. Go for it!

Woohoo! Leaving work soon! Off till Jan 2!!!!!

Ever get to the point where you just don't care anymore? It's like 4 days until Christmas and I am at the point where I just don't care if I get these gifts made on time or not! I thought that I was finally finished with DD2's dress last night only to hold it up to show DH and realize that when I sewed the top part to the skirt part, the top was inside out! I spent until midnight carefully ripping out each and every stitch. Seriously something only I would do.

Oh my goodness Caroline! I'm sorry you're feeling so down I want to give up some days too.

Today was not one of those days...but tomorrow probably will be.

It's one of those things where I just need a kick in the butt to get back at it and finish it properly. DH gave me a good kick just after I posted that and DD2's dress is now sewn together properly and doesn't look half bad.

I just have DS's gift left to finish, his is the hardest and most time consuming. Really though I only have 3 pages left to put together then it's just sewing the pages together and putting in grommets so I can put binder rings through them to hold it all together.

2am and I am still working on DS's book. I've gone insane! I'm down to just the sewing left and since I don't think it's wise to sew when I'm this tired I think I'm heading to bed and praying that the kids let me sleep in, at least a little bit in the morning.

So after a week of waking up 3-4 times a night and DH and I seriously contemplating sleep training/night weaning, Marcos shocked us both by sleeping the night! Granted, he woke up at 5:30am instead of his usual 6:30, but it's a small price to pay.

On another note, poor thing hasn't had a bowel movement since Thursday night so I'm getting a bit concerned. I was dreading having to go to the store and buy some prune puree/juice because DH said the sidewalks are like pure ice and are really dangerous, but luckily I found a jar of prune puree in my cupboard that my mom had given me at my baby shower. So yay for not leaving the house today! Hopefully it'll get things going. He doesn't seem uncomfortable or distressed but I don't want it to get to that point.

How much do you think I should give him? Just a few spoonfuls, or the same amount he would normally eat in a feeding?

Prunes are one thing I don't have any experience with. Good luck!

DS was playing so nicely and quietly right after lunch today. I thought he was in the playroom so I didn't go check on him. Big mistake!! He had dumped a large bowl of water onto my kitchen floor, then dumped both bowls of cat food into the water and was sitting there splashing and drawing designs with soggy cat food on my floor!
