I had a midwife with my second.

I am a doula.

As long as you are leaving messages you will get a call back, she may be at a birth, andcould be gone for days. And then will need to sleep for a day or so when she is back.

I'm just so nervous about the time issue. I wish that she would just get a hold of me so I know what to expect. Plus I really want a water birth done and I have to get that set up soon otherwise it might be to late because you have to do so many test to make sure your able to have a water birth.

There may be an issue with time only because the midwife or doula may have a full schedule, but if that is the case, her schedule was likely full months ago. I know in Alberta to have a homebirth you have to hire the midwife in the first 8 weeks or so or else she is full.

As for tests to have a waterbirth, what on Earth would they need to test for?
