My husband lived in Oxford! He moved from there in 1984, when he was 10. He lived there for about 6 years and he considers that to be where he is from. His Dad had something to do with the Springhill Coal mine getting started. His mom had a bakery and a sewing shop. They lived "across the street from the fairgrounds" and use to sell people a spot to park on their lawn (Kirk and his brother did).

Oh really?? That's cool. Actually i'm not from Oxford at all but moved here about a year ago - my DH is a Corrections Officer at the nearby prison and we bought an old house in Oxford. Small town but cute as a button and everyone is really nice - great place to have kids for sure. I don't know anyone here as we have most of our friends in Amherst and Halifax so we usually go there on the weekends but i'm sure with the new little peanut coming we will get to know a few people.
