I am dilated 2cm and my cervix is thinning. Doc said instead of my cervix feeling like the tip of my nose it's now like my earlobe. ? (softening up I guess)

The baby is wayyyy down hence my back pain.

He stripped my membranes - that was NOT FUN! I've been bleeding ever since.

He said if I don't go in labor over the next few days I will be induced Tuesday morning at 7:30 (due to my gestational diabetes). They do not want me to go past my due date for the health of the baby.

So, no matter what baby Alexander will be here on Tuesday or Wednesday of the coming week.

Yay!

I do hope I go on my own however - please send me labor vibes - I don't want a forced labor. I hear it's more intense.

So, I guess it's a good appointment isn't it? Oh, baby's weight is estimated at 7.5 lbs as of today.

That's good to know - about the inducement not being too bad. I heard it's alot worse than if u go on your own so that's reassuring.

It brings contractions more closer together and more regularly than if you were to go naturally..it for me went quicker than when I went into labour with my first 2..It was 7 1/2 hrs from the time they started the pitocin til Isaac was born..But I had gestational diabetes and had to check my sugars every hr while I was in labour..that sucked..I don't think that had anything to do with being induced though...

They use a finger sweep (during the internal) and separate the bag of waters from the rim of the cervix - that's how I understand it anyway. It feels very very uncomfortable - a little painful....and I've been bleeding ever since. It's not fun but in this case I would like it to trigger my labor on my own so I don't end up getting induced. I've been cramping ever since - like period cramps so it's not unbearable. Hoping I will go into labor tonight as a result of it.

I hear some people don't find it too painful and some do...depends on the doc and the patient.
