I don't believe there are any practising midwives in Kamloops.

If you call the places I gave you earlier, at least one of those places will answer. They are clinics, so someone will be there.

If you are going to Vancouver for the birth, chances are that is where you will have to go for all your prenatal care as well. Midwives don't generally do prenatal care for someone who is going elsewhere.

A student midwife would know if there is any licensed midwives.

She won't be allowed to attend you, and besides, you are going to another city entirely.

All the places in the lower mainland are closed? Every single one?

I'm in Kamloops and I don't think we have any mid-wives in town here. I have only heard of doulas. As for water birth, I have not heard of anyone doing that here either.

Good luck on your search.

By the way - what kind of dog is that in your avatar?

Mastiffs are sweeties. That one is SO teeny though!!

Well, keep us posted on your search. Good luck. Has your OB had any advice on finding a mid-wife?
