I am 28 weeks and starting to think about getting some stuff for the baby and getting nursery set up. I have no idea where to start.
I did a bit of shopping and OMG everything is soooo $$$$$ when it comes to cribs and strollers etc. I was waiting for some of the once I liked to go on sale, but they never do so I am thinking of maybe just going and getting them.
How far along are you? Did you get your nursery organized? What did you do / buy? Where did u start?
Any stores around Toronto with reasonable pricing?
If you go to ToysRUs and go to the babysection, ask for a baby catalogue. In the back theres some great coupons for all that stuff. Id suggest getting your stuff at a great store , like toysrus or Sears, because the quality is great and it will last you a VERY VERY long time. Whatever I got at walmart was crap after several months.
Id start getting the nursery ready now. It can take a long time if you have other things to do as well.
We started off with the crib, a rocking chair, a nightstand and a dresser, the cribset, the mobile and that was about it. I didnt bother getting a change table, thought it would be a waste of money. I changed diapers on the couch, floor and on my bed, whatever was easier and closer.

I am coming up on 30 weeks and am not concerned about it. Mainly due to the fact that the baby will be rooming in with me for atleast the first two months. I have my crib from last time and it was purchased at Sears. I love their baby stuff and almost every weekend they have sales on it. I think this weekend it is car seats and strollers and Graco toys on sale, as well as Kushie items (love their receiving blankets as they do not shrink up in the wash) I am not starting to organize the baby's room until next month. Right now the crib and a few other things are in there but mostly junk from when we moved as at the time it was the "spare" room LOL I figure it will take me a weekend to clean out and one more to paint. Good luck in your hunt for baby things! I always keep my eyes out for the flyers, Zellers has baby stuff on sale almost every other weekend too! Word of advice is to buy things for baby in many different sizes when it comes to clothes. Too many newborn clothes that they won't get to wear before they grow out of can be an issue. I have sizes 3-12 mos building up in my closet

Couldn't agree more with you there! As if I was going to march all the way upstairs every time to change the baby's bum! LOL To me it would have been something I never used. I kept a neat pile of diapers, a change pad and a travel case of wipes on a shelf of my coffee table.
I think right now is a good time to get started on getting everything together.
I have to say, I always liked having a change table, for the changing and the extra storage it gave. (I did get mine given to me).
I feel myself wanting to get some things together for this baby's arrival (I have everything, it's mostly a matter of digging it out and washing it), but first we have to move (hopefully in 2 weeks), and then we have to finish our basement so our children can move downstairs (and out of the baby's room).
I know what you mean about everthing being expensive, if you have to get everything it really adds up.
Yeah sears does have a good sale on right now, I just ordered my rocker/bouncer seat.
I'm only 11 weeks and I am pretty prepared lol. The room isn't painted and there is now clothes or bedding just because that is going to be gender specific but everything else is here!
I'm only 11 weeks and I've already finished painting the baby room. I'm a teacher, so this is my free time and I know come September I'll have zero time to do this kind of stuff. We only have a changing table so far that DH's sister gave us.
I have been debating the change table issue for a while now. One thing I forgot I wanted until this thread was a rocker. We'll have no room for both and I think I'd take the rocker over the change table. I just dunno how much I'm gonna like changing on the floor...for my sake, my poor back! LOL
