At first I just wanted my fiance and my mom. Then I told my fiance's mom she could come in when I started pushing (she really wanted to be there). Then my best friend/roomate from University was there and I told her she might as well stay!
I didn't think I'd want that many people but it was nice having all the support and encouragement when pushing!!!
I only had DH. My Sister was there during labor and then came in after the baby was delivered. Our limit at the hospital I am delivering is 3ppl. They changed it to three when the whole SARS thing was going on and never changed it back to whatever it was before.

awww, that sucked!!!
My mom actually missed my brothers graduation since Nicole was 10 days late... She also lives far away
When I had my first, my hubby was the only one in the room. Once I started pushing he called the family and told them to come as the baby would arrive soon. We got lucky because there was a family re-union starting the next day, so my parents and both my sisters were able to come. His parents and sister were also able to make it. They all waited in the hall - I was not so cool with the idea of anyone seeing my hoo-hoo - that's why DH was the only one in the room.
This time I will be having a c-section and I am only allowed to bring one person in - so that will be DH.
Obviously, my dh was in the room all 4 times. With my third I had a friend there too, I asked her to come because she had 4 c-sections and always felt like she missed out on a "normal" birth. It was nice to have her there.
#1 - DH, MIL, and her Godmother
#2 - DH, and our doula
#3 was at home - DH, midwife, 2 RNs (1 as 'back-up' and one as a friend) and a nursing student doing her 2nd year project (she now is going on to midwifery and before Kieras' birth said there was no way she wanted to go into birth at all).
