Because our spending means more taxes go to the Federal Goverment. (The federal gov't then believes it has the best interests of Canada at heart when it spends the money.)
Yes I did look at that link 47% is still alot and if you look at the part where it shows how the other parties did, even though the PC's only got 47% of the vote which is 38(around there) seats they still would have won the election because the next highest was the Liberals with 29seats.
