LOL - yes it was! Darcy reminded me that Ontario has grade 13... maybe that's why the extra courses?

BrandyBehr - where did you go to school?

Or maybe I'm just getting old too!

I went to school in BC.

Kirk went to school here and there were lots of courses offered at his high school. He graduated in 1993.

Ditto for me, however, we had graduating classes of only 30 people, in fact, there was one year, where there was only 11! So I guess that's why the choices were so limited.

There is no Grade 13 in Ontario anymore. And I know I'm old so I had the plain old generic courses. That I hated.

You're right.. no grade 13 !
It's just a optional class that is offered in grades 11 and 12.

Very cool girls!! I guess because I was in a small town, we just didn't get those options... Hey BrandyBehr - Darcy graduated in 1993 too!

I think the size of the city/town had alot to do with what was offered.

In my highschool we had the basics, though a Native Studies course was started when I was in Grade 10, in Grade 11 they brought in Accounting which was the exact same accounting I did in college the first year. In Grade 12 we did a really badly failed Calculus test group.lol There were 10 or 11 of us, the smarter math people and none of us passed. It was correspondance though they did give us a class time and a teacher who had never taken Calculus himself(he was our shop teacher, lol). It wasn't a total failure since they did bring it in as a regular class we just sucked. This was a town of 1500 people with 44 in our grade and we were a huge grade.lol

I don't know what they offer now but they do other ones like psychology. In this particular town you can pretty much go to hairdressing school in highschool.

If I remember correctly, we could take sociology or psychology (not sure about anthropology) as an option, but we still had to take at least one of the 3 core sciences to get an advanced diploma - there definitely weren't any departmental exams for anything but those 3 though.
