With my hamstring almost better I am starting to feel the pain in my butt and I know I need to strengthen my butt (this sounds so funny to say ). Does anyone have any tips for stretches to help loosen the muscles and then exercises to help tone? Thanks!

The ONLY butt exercise I know is the squeeze and release and you can do that anywhere(I used to do it at work when I did desk/cubicle jobs).

Just squeeze and hold for like 20 seconds then release than do it again. I would do it like 10x in a row and rest for an hour or so and do it again. Just whenever I thought about it really cuz its a do anywhere and not really be noticed type of exercise.

Oh boy do I Just remember that if anything irritates your hamstring, back off a bit
Here are a few stretches.....



And the strengthening....

how could I NOT comment on a topic titled "Butt Stretches" !?!



squats are good for the butt. I also like bridges (the first strengthening move pictured by Valerie) b/c it works the hamstring, too. I also like doing deadlifts, but you have to be *very* strict on your form. They give a nice stretch to the back of the legs, though.

Thanks Valerie! I googled and saw a few of those and tried them. It is just crazy how weak all of my parts have gotten .

Ok... I'll make a confession... if I can get vacuuming done without interruption, I'll do squats, side squats and lunges while vacuuming...

Most of the ones I'd recommend are the ones that Valerie covered.
