Well it was a different lady to the one I had been seeing and I must admit she was pretty disorganised. We had to wait quite some time and she seemed a little flustered. I am supposed to have a home visit in 2 weeks to talk about the finer details of the homebirth but she couldnt properly book it as she didnt know what times the main midwife was working. I must say it's a little inconvinient as the provisional date and time she put clashes with Harro's dentist appointment but he needs to be here really.
They couldnt find my blood results from last time either which is annoying as I said before I need to know if it is above the number needed for a homebirth.
Finally baby is 4/5 engaged which confuses me so I looked online and that means 1/5 cant be felt so he has started to engage...I think 0/5 is totally engaged.
Finally I was measuring behind about a week the past times and now I am apparantly a week ahead at 36 weeks so this is a bit confusing to me too...maybe they measure different or maybe he has grown A LOT in these past 2 weeks. She asked how big Sebi was at birth. I dont know whether to worry a bit or what? She felt a lot in my pubic region...I guess when checking for engagement and it was really uncomfy as his head is right there. hmmm so let's hope I hear more soon about my home visit else I have to chase up a week from now if not...why is it all pandemonium for the home stretch? agh!

Sounds like a good appointment apart from the unorganised "professional!"

all the 1/5 etc is different in america then it is here.. in my book (the english version)

5/5 mean baby is totally engaged and 0/5 means totally engaged in america

when i was pregnant with lacey they put once i was 3/5 engaged and then the next week i was 4/5 engaged and so i looked it up in my book and thats when i saw it meant she was nrly engaged as only one part of her head could be felt the other 4th was too far down

What a PITA that the midwife was so disorganised; not what you need when you are so close to having the baby and want the final plans in place! I wouldn't worry about the difference in your tummy measurements. When I was pregnant with Zach my measurements were all over the place and I think it was down to the fact that different midwives seem to measure you differently (although in theory they should all do it the same)!

oh wow...I thought he was really low down, and was relieved when I thought he was only slightly engaged...I wonder if he will be early or if he will bob back up...do you reckon he will stay engaged now?

Would subsequent babies not drop quicker though? I've seen so many girls on WTTC Grads board say their babies drop earlier when it's 2nd, 3rd, etc.

Sounds like a frustrating appointment. Hope the regular midwife is back for the next one. At least all is well with Bub.
