I'm taking Max back to the doc soon, his eyes are no better and he's had drops since Thursday and I've been bathing them with cooled boiled water. He is also really poorly now as well, his throat and chest are so bad, worse than ever. His voice is all croaky and he's just crying out as if it hurts Emma's not too well either and I've got a meeting 12-1 and work 2-5 so I have to leave them most of the day, will probably get to see them for half an hour between my meeting and work

I never care if my kids are ill about going in, i actually told my boss when Ebony was ill last year that they always come first before work and i dont get paid if i am off for them. I hate that they are doing that to you Lucy, its awful. Poor Max, kup, and try keep your chin up.

Oh no, poor Max and poor you too! You must be exhausted given that Max seems to be constantly poorly. How did you get on at the doctors?

The doc said he has a chest infection now too, so gave him a different anti-biotic to take as well as the one he's already taking, plus the eye drops and gave us new inhalers. Add calpol and I feel like I'm drugging him! So much medication for such a young baby and so often I just hope with all I have that he grows out of this and it stops. I just want him to be healthy so badly, I'd give anything. The worry and the guilt is horrible as well as seeing him so poorly. Of all the times he's been ill though he's never been as bad as this he won't eat and that is something he's never had problems with before!! He's got diarrhoea now as well though
I've rang work and told them I can't come in tomorrow, I was shaking like a leaf and had to plan out what I was going to say! The person I spoke to was funny with me but what can I do?! There's no way I can leave him with anyone else in this state! So what if work don't have a family leave policy... it's the law right??

poor lad all these different anti biotics he has been on, surely his body is going to become immune to them? hope his new inhalers work and the anti biotics kick in soon, have they said anything about all this reoccurring chest infections?
I think its good you rang into work, he needs mummy and tough poop on work

Lucy hun don't panic about work, they should be understanding and they should have a family leave policy because it's common sense really, and I believe the law. If they don't then that is their problem, not yours.
Poor Max! I hope he gets better really soon hon xx

Don't worry about work... you can self-certify for 1 week before needing a doctor's line, so I'm sure you can have time off for your baby!!! I know my work has a certain amount of days per year which are open to parents for sick children leave.
I bet the diarreah is due to the anti-biotics, they can be harsh on the tummy, just make sure he has a drink close by all day so he stays hydrated if he will drink?
Let us know how he is tmor. I really hope this helps and he perks up quickly!

His eyes are a little better now and he's gone to sleep (although he's waking himself up coughing every half hour or so). I hate anti-b poo it just shoots out! He will drink so i'll just have to persevere with that! I don't know if I should feed him or not? Should I let him eat if he wants? It's not like he has a stomach bug, he's pooping because of the anti-b's!?
