Mischa keeps trying out her new teeth on my nipples and my goodness does it hurt!!!! Little monkey, if she doesn't stop it then I am going to have to switch her to bottles. My nipples are black and blue!

Its a pretty normal thing for them do right? I heard if you do the stop technic it can stop it. When she does it you just remove her from the breast, then do it every time she bites you. I heard it works but am no expert lol

make sure you give out a scream or something when she does it so it makes her jump, and then remove the boob.
if shes biting and not letting go push her into the boob and she'll release!
i hope she stops!!
xx

I do that Lisa, but it doesn't seem to bother her! The next time she latches on she just does it again!

Awww Lou!!! Suzi said what I was advised to do (I weaned before her teeth came in though), to push her into the breast until she lets go, then I was advised to put her on the floor and use the same phrase "if you bite mummy, you don't get any milk" or soething in your own words, but use the same phrase each time.
Has she been doing it for long? Does she do it at the beginning of nursing sessions or only when she has finished having milk but is kinda comfort suckling?

She does it on and off throughout the entire feed Fiona, so I'm constantly taking her off and latching her on again which means feeds take ages!!

Have you tried unlatching and setting her down for a couple of minutes? Might help her understand?

Maybe I will give that a go Fiona. But if that doesn't work I'm afraid I'm going to have to give up breastfeeding.

Theo was doing that when his bottom teeth came through. It took me a while to realise that is what he was doing as he often grabs my boob and twists it in his fingers! It bloomin hurts doesnt it?! Well he has stopped now so maybe she will stop it in a few days once her teeth arent annoying her so much. Now Im worried about the top teeth!

Zach only ever bit me on a handful of occasions, but Mischa does it nearly ever feed!
