Seeing as none of us seem to be getting very good weather over the Easter holidays, anybody have any plans on how to keep their kids occupied over the next week?

Any activities planned?
Any day trips planned?

Other than binding and gagging them?
Only have my youngest to occupy, other three amuse themselves, I'm hoping for at least one dry day to get to the park at least once this week!
No day trips as DH goes back to work tomorrow, but the weather has been too sucky for those anyway.

Daniel was with his dad from last Friday until late yesterday.

Last week we did Blackpool Zoo and Playbarn (you get a discounted Playbarn ticket with a zoo ticket) - zoos always work out ok because there are picnic shelters, shops, cafes and animal houses to dive into. We did lunch at the local pub one day. We did indoor soft play, and we did the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry which is free.

Today we went to the local garden centre, had lunch in the cafe and stocked up on bird food, there's lots of things there Dan likes to look at. And tomorrow, Chester Zoo, which we don't pay for because we're members, we paid an annual price and will have had more than half our money's worth after this visit.

Dan's not keen on making things or baking - he did go through a baking phase but I offered to make cornflake nests with him last week and he didn't want to. However he does like just playing with his toys in the house if someone will sit and play with him.

My mum used to do things with us like playing card games for money using the pennies in the "copper jar", or setting us "competitions" with our colouring books for which there was usually a lollipop or chocolate bar as a prize, but we both got a prize lol as she could never choose. She used to make cards with us - cards are always easier to do - or get paints out, I remember doing potato prints, fruit prints are also interesting to do.

You could have an indoor picnic, make actual picnic food (get the kids to help) and have it indoors. That can be fun.

In our house, tomorrow is clear out the playroom day, its been intended to happen the whole easter hols and we havn't gotten around to it yet. And we are going to clear out the other half of the attic, basically kids included, we are doing our big spring clean.
Then Saturday we are going to the Titanic museum, mam and dad are taking Amelia so we can actually take notice of whats there instead of trying to keep her in her buggy (she is like houdini sp?) the great escapist. Then i think we might bring a picnic to have in the beautiful park next door to the museum that is right on the water if the weather is fine.
Sunday myself and my dad are doing a carboot for the day, im trying to raise as much spending money as possible before Paris, and my BFF who ususally comes with me is taking a week off. DH gets to entertain the kids in the house for the day as ill have the car with me.
Monday its back to school and back into a routine which hopefully will calm my boys down, their behaviour is off the charts as usual with holidays, they don't cope well with change of routine.
Sharron, i like the indoor picnic idea, its something i wouldn't have ever thought about.
