We did make it! Shaun came with me which I didn't think he would, so it was more fun. We managed to get a Moses basket on a crib rocker - the layette with it is pink and we're team green but we got there a little late due to getting lost and any gender neutral ones must have already gone. But hey it was £20 where they are £50-£60 new, only used twice, and after all we can get a white/blue layette for it if we do have a boy.
We also got a few gender neutral outfits including 5 baby hats and a couple of white cardigans which I was short of, some of them were in matching sets which are really cute. And two VERY cute snowsuits for this winter for 3-6 months age which is bang on for how old baby will be by then. And some scratch mitts. So, pleased we got what was the main items we wanted today. And the clothes, even though nearly new, with the exception of one particularly lovely set cost next to nothing.
We do want to get a baby sling/carrier and not a single person was selling one so it looks like that will have to be new from a shop...but never mind.
The reason I want a Moses basket is because we have a large cot for the bedroom, but it's way too big to just plonk a newborn in it. With a Moses basket, baby can sleep in it on the stand downstairs, and then at bedtime the basket can go inside the cot until baby is big enough to be safe in the cot.

Economies of space are a necessity in our house, it's a standard 3-bed (with one bedroom about as big as a large cupboard

) semi already containing me, my partner some of the time, my mum, and my son.
I will take pics but honestly I have had enough of the camera today after sorting out a load of pictures for school!
