I was thinking last night about how repetitive, samey and boring most of our TV has become.

It's all either reality shows or talent competitions. I still watch a few reality shows but find most of them very samey, and have completely gone off the talent competitions...they are SO overdone now, and surely they've found all the best of the UK's talent anyway by now?

I'd like to see more in the way of variety shows, coverage of music concerts/events, some new sitcoms and decent drama serials, and for goodness sake bring back the quality Saturday night game shows, I used to love Generation Game and Bob's Your Uncle!

X Factor and BGT are about the only 2 reality/talent shows we watch. I love watching the auditions, I think they are hilarous! The older 2 girls always seem to find someone to support on them so we end up getting hooked
I must admit I miss kids Saturday morning shows like Going Live. I loved that, wish they'd do something like that again for kids.

I didn't realise they'd stopped Yvonne. I used to watch Going Live and also Live n Kicking. Though Noel Edmonds' Saturday Swap Shop and Tiswas were the best!

I used to love Noel's funhouse (i think that was the name anyway), its the one that had Mr Blobby in it. I agree with Sharron, we need to see some new sitcoms, british and irish tv are missing the really good sitcom at the moment, i can't even think of one that is up and current that is on now. I would also like to see a bit more of documentaries especially historical ones. And pleeeeese less reality shows like 'The only way is Essex' and 'The housewifes of nearly every town in both countries at this point. Its all getting a bit old.

Those things (housewives, TOWIE, Jersey/Geordie Shore etc) I was never even interested to begin with, so the amount of them on telly now is just ridiculous and infuriating.

I've been watching re-runs of Father Ted which I think is really funny but the sad thing is I remember most of them - we deffo need a fresh new sitcom or two. We have talented comedians out there, but stand-up seems to be the flavour of the day with them...and even that they only tend to broadcast on the weekends.

We need some good documentary series as well. It's been a while since anything really groundbreaking. I'd love to see a couple on history.

Noel's House Party had Mr Blobby, I loved that on a Saturday night, couldn't wait to see who was at the door

I think reality tv is taking over the tv. I can't bare to watch any of the TOWIE's or Real housewives type ones either. I just don't see it as entertainment. Bring back the good old english comedy like Fools and Horses and Absolutly fabulous. I would love to see another one from Matt Lucas and David Walliams too, i loved their 'Come fly with me' comedy that was on last year, i hope they make another series of it.

Come Fly With Me was hilarious, I loved Precious who worked at the coffee place. Loved how she always had an excuse to shut

Must admit I think the best comedy these days is Mrs Brown's Boys. I'm in tears every time I watch it. Have it on DVD and it doesn't get old!

Ive seen Mrs Browns Boys live at least 5 times over here and they are even more hilarious live. Brenden O Carroll is just one of a kind. I was thrilled when i saw the tv series of it but imagine the tv series only 10 times more hilarious and thats what the live shows are like. If they ever come to a theatre near you i would highly recommend going to see them.

My brother has been numerous times to see it live. Unfortunately it's sold out for Glasgow in September this year.

That dosn't suprise me, we get our tickets the day they go on sale, they always sell out over here, you can see why. Its great to go see something that will have you bursting your sides laughing. They do say laughter is the best medicine, and i can always count on Brendan O Carroll to make me feel better. They even won a BAFTA the other night for the show. I think it was for best TV comedy show.
