hi everyone

my mum says it bad luck to have a cot/bed in the house when trying for a baby. my sister in law doesnt really understand why i would buy a cot already. i try to explain to the sister in law that we are sorting out our spare room and it the cot i wanted and it was not coming back in stock and also would like my nan to see what i use her money for if she doesnt even get to see her great granchild when we have one. the only reason why we got it was the only one left and wasnt coming back in stock and also we are sorting out the nursery so when it does happen i can rest and not worry about doing painting finding a cot. has anyone do a room before they got preg? or am i just mad?

i haven't but i don't think you are mad at all, it makes sense if the cot isn't coming back in stock & also as you say less stress when you do get pregnant

I know of other people who've done it, not at all mad. I haven't done it but we had Daniel's old cot stored away in the house while TTC...

I have heard of that supersticion before, from my mother. She wouldn't leave any baby stuff into my place before DS1 was born. But then when preggo with the second and third the baby stuff was all stored away in the house with us, so i would say its just another one of those supersticions. I understand where you are coming from with the cot going out of stock, i would have done the same thing too.
