When are they getting them? they finish up on the 28th June

How long are they off for? Just under 7 weeks It's usually just over, but they need to make up for the extra 2 days they've just had!

Do you think its too short or too long a time? If the weather's good it's just right, if the weather's rubbish then after the 3rd week they're bored stupid!

When do they go back to school? 15th August

When are they getting them?22nd June

How long are they off for? 9 weeks

Do you think its too short or too long a time? Definatly too long, should be in school till at least end of june like every other school here, ours just decided to cut mid term breaks short so to get a longer summer holiday. I would prefer for their mid terms to be a bit longer than 2 days and them being in school till the end of June.

When do they go back to school? 30th August.

How many holidays do they get throughout the year?
Here they get a week in October, 2 weeks at Christmas (although sometimes it can be nearer to 3!), 2 weeks at the beginning of April and 7 in the summer. They also get a long weekend (Fri-Mon) in September, one in February and two in May and of course don't forget 4-5 in service days usually tagged onto the end of a holiday. If Easter doesn't fall in the first two weeks of April they also get a long weekend for that. I swear we never got as many days off school when I was young! Oh and of course you have to factor in 2-3 days for snow/high winds in the winter months!!

Ours get a week on October plus a long weekend, they usually have around 3 weeks at Christmas, they get a thursday and friday off as mid-term in feb (this is the one i think should be a week, and to cut a few day off the summer hols for). At easter they get 2 weeks, a long weekend in May and a long weekend in June, then hols on the 22nd of June, then when they get to secondary school level they get an extra 4 weeks for summer hols. Looking at it all layed out like this, lord they get a lot of time off, too much time i think.
As our boys both have Aspergers syndrome and don't take to too much time off in one go, our government pays for an at home one on one tutor for 40 hrs in the month of July. The teacher who comes to our house teaches both boys and is so lovely with them, so it makes the really long summer holidays less boring for them, and less stressful. They need some sort of routine so transitioning from school to holidays and vice versa they find really stressful.

Think my lot would love an extra 4 weeks for being in secondary school They do get the whole of May off, except the days of exams, when they are in their 4th, 5th & 6th years, but that's for studying for the exams (yeah like a lot of studying was done by Elijah last month!)

Daniel's school closes on 20th July. He has that day off as is going away with his dad, so 19th July is his last day. They have six weeks going back in the first week of September. For most children it's probably a tad too long and four weeks would be enough (I swear as a teacher they lose some of the learning over the six weeks). But for Daniel it's actually just right. He needs a longer rest as he gets very overwhelmed with school and tireder than the other children, mentally as well as physically. Plus this year I'm hoping it will give him some bonding time with baby.

The holidays in the UK have always been shorter than they are over here, and i think they are just about right. My kids are on holidays in less than 2 weeks, thats just crazy, its way too long. I can see it already, them bored out of their minds while the rain is pouring down outside and the two boys bouncing off each other with every glance. Oh the joys lol.
