Some of the best, anyway.

Day 1 - As we travelled down, we went to the Welsh Mountain Zoo because Daniel loves zoos/animals. It was nice, but hard going on the walking, and not a great variety of animals. Did see a snow leopard though. Most of the enclosures were barred so the animal pictures are not great, but here are some of us.

Day 2 - We went out to Caernarfon Castle, for lunch and then on to Airworld, the aircraft museum on the coast, which Daniel loved. He has somehow developed a dislike of castles and moaned most of the time we were at the castle, but then I wasn't overly impressed as it felt soulless, for a castle, though there was an interesting war museum inside part of it and it was beautiful. He LOVED pretending to drive aeroplanes and helicopters at the aircraft museum and was very excited to see private helicopters landing and taking off. This is where the weather started to get dreary and drizzly.

Day 3 - Shaun, Dan and I went to Greenwood Forest Park and got thoroughly rained on, wet and dirty. It's a really nice walk round though with lots to play on for children. Daniel didn't want to do the rollercoaster, the big slide, or the jungle boats, but he played on lots of other things.

Day 4 - Mum, Dan and I had a drive over to Anglesey to visit Anglesey Sea Zoo and Foel Farm - a working farm which also made its own chocolates and had an amazing chocolate shop (I was very good and only bought a few treats ). We were really lucky with timings - because it was a very rainy day lots of people piled into the aquarium at around 11am, but we turned up when it opened at 10am and got to see everything without being crowded, and a table in the cafe for lunch long before the influx. Daniel fed a lamb from a bottle and held a baby rabbit, both of which took some persuasion, but he was so proud of himself once doing it, bless him. The first picture is a view of Caernarfon Castle from across the Menai Strait. You can see what a grey day it was.

Day 5 - Driving home day. The bad weather prevailed. The original plan was to visit Beaumaris Castle on the Anglesey coast before setting off home, but Daniel didn't want to anymore as he has completely gone off old castles with towers. We took some pictures around the caravan and site prior to leaving for Daniel's memories. We decided to drive home via Llandudno to at least SEE the sea (since there hadn't been a good weather day to actually go on the beach) and have a walk on the sea-front. Due to Shaun feeling ill and everyone being tired and fed up by the weather, this translated into a visit to Llandudno museum, popping into one or two gift shops and a lovely lunch in a very nice cafe before driving home.

And that was the week that was! Such a shame about the weather, especially given it's warm here today - but at least we missed the floods which happened yesterday once we were home. We were very pleased with Daniel's behaviour and his attempts to socialise with other children when we were out and about. We listened in on a lot of weird little conversations, but they were great progress for him.

The pics are lovely, i love the one of Daniel feeding the lamb, he is getting so grown up, a right little boy now. And Sharron you are blooming, you bump is so cute. Im glad you enjoyed it despite the weather and im glad to hear Daniel made progress in socialising with the other kids. Last year was the first year we holidayed in a caravan park and we found it fantastic for Reese, it was only small steps but for him they were huge. He didn't really talk to them much but did follow around and join in with the playing. We are going there for 3 weeks again this summer and as he knows the run of things there we are hoping it will bring him out of himself even more again.
