we went to kilkenny overnight as we didnt make it to new york for Decs birthday we decided to at least get a night away with the kids, we borrowed a wheelchair for Jamie as it wasnt fair to make him walk long distances on the crutches, was a lovely weekend but we are shattered, wasnt a particulary wheelchair friendly place , alot of the shops had high steps and I just found alot of people a bit rude in general refusing to acknowlegde Jamie was there, was a bit of an eye opener..

anyway we had a good time and had dinner in the hotel and went to bed..all was great until jamie decided to vomit everywhere at 2.30..managed to clean everything up but i think the hotel will be down a few towels and sheets!! he was fine this morning but i couldnt get back to sleep so am tired this afternoon..early to bed i think!!!

how was everyone elses weekend?

Glad you managed to get away to celebrate Dec's birthday, especially with everything you've had on your plate recently. Will you reschedule New York for next year instead?

Such a shame Jamie was sick though. Stomach bug or something he ate? Is he ok now?

I hope Jamie is ok now. Glad you managed to get away even if for one night. I find people quite rude and inconsiderate when i take mam out in her wheelchair. A lot just stand right in front of you for the sake of it, im sure. And i find a lot of shops are not wheelchair friendly and just getting the wheelchair through the aisles and then through the tills can be quite an experience, i find i end up apologising a lot when i hit people in the ankles because the space is too tight. My dad is worst though, mam has banned him from pushing her im her designated wheelchair pusher when out now.

Yes, hopefully we will do New York when he is completely well and before the next op...
Not sure what happened to Jamie but it was a one off once he got it all out his system!
It was a real eye opener with the wheelchair Molly, I was amazed at some people's intolerance and rudeness!

I find people have just become more rude in general. It's quite appalling actually and I just can't believe that people have such terrible attitudes.

glad you got away for the weekend, that is so rude with the wheelchair!! i find people here are like that with pushchairs too, just step back and bang into it and not even acknowledge it's there! some people are just so rude
