Got up this morning at the crack of dawn to take Daniel to a physio/OT appointment at the other side of town....to a LOAD of snow outside and it was still coming down! ugh.

Of course, the clinic wasn't answering the phone at that time of morning so it was a case of making a bid to get there and hoping it wasn't cancelled. Traffic was horrible, most roads hadn't been gritted (thanks local council). Got there JUST before appointment time, to find a voicemail on my phone left at 8:55am 5 minutes before the appointment time to say we didn't need to come and it could be rearranged! Ridiculous.

They did see us, but Daniel found the appt hard to deal with and ended up super high, then had to drive back through slush and still falling sleet, wrangle him to the library to get his book stamped as the date was up, and to McDonalds for his lunch where he had a mini meltdown. Got him home for a half hour chill out before the afternoon session at school but he was STILL high as a kite when I dropped him off.

Loads of the other schools round here were closing at 1pm because of the snow, but not ours.

So I still have to go back and get him at 3:30.

I'm absolutely pooped!! Hoping the snow comes down HARD tonight so that he gets a snow day tomorrow. He REALLY needs a day off after today. And so do I!!!

What on earth were they doing leaving a voicemail message on your phone five minutes before your appointment?! That's utterly ridiculous!

How was Daniel when you collected him from school? Had he calmed down? Did he get a day off school today due to the weather or has he had to go to school?

I don't know Lou, I pointed out to them that it was pretty silly, all I got was a sort of giggle and "we did it just in case..." They need a better system that's what! They could put a notice up on the council website for example, I did check.

No, he's still not come down from it even today. He's been super anxious at school and we even had a screaming tantrum when he was getting tired. If his next appt is on a Monday morning I'm going to request that they change it.
