How are they getting on Rach? Is Barbara any better and is Una growing?

Barbara is much better, still is getting hedaches but the bp is more under control, still high but not dangerous any more, she came out of hospital on friday.

Una is still really 50/50, she is 3 weeks old now but she is not making the progress the doctor thinks she should. the main problem is that she has a problem with her heart - one of the valves is not closing properly which is mking it hard to pump the blood round the body so the organs are not getting the oxygen they need. she needs surgury but is not stable enough yet, she is still needing the machines to breathe.

on the plus side she has gaained weight 2lb 6oz now, is taking breastmilk through a feeding tube and hs fought a kidney and a lung infection. she had a bad weekend and went into respiritory arrest but pulled through

its good news that she is not going backwards though

beause derek has had to go back to work and barbara is at home and cant drive yet we have all been taking it in turns to take her to the hospitl each day. my turn on the rota is friday, its a 2hr drive to pick her up and then go to the hospital but at least i will be able to help out.

hopefully i will have some really good news soon!!!

Glad everything seems to be getting better a bit at a time.

Surely the fact Una faught off the infections might have put her devlopment behind? If her body is busy fighting a nasty infection it can't delvop aswell? Just my thoughts!

I am sure she will be really greatfull for what you and all your family are doing.

She's doing well Rach, she's hanging in there and fighting, give her a few more weeks and I'm sure her improvement will be vast. Bless her, i'll keep praying for her.

Shes a little fighter and great to hear she has been putting weight on.

Hope she gets strong enough to have the surgery to fix her heart valve.
