I can't believe we have been here for 3 years either. Gabriella was born here and we had a great day out in London to go to the Embassy to register her birth and get her American passport...so she has dual citizenship
My oldest son and I qualify for our British Citizenship in March and I'm excited but nervous. The applications are legnthy and pricey and if you are denied, no refunds.
I don't know how the health care works for a working visa, is his company providing private heath care or will you all get NHS?
I have to say that out of all 3 birth and care experiences, Garbriella's was the best. I don't have one complaint about the care. It is very different here in that you only see a doctor if medically necessary and we don't get appointments as often as they do in the states. Took some getting used to but in the end was very pleased. I ended up with a c section after a failed attempt to turn her and again, the entire process was exceptional. My only complaint is the lack of well baby visits. After you are signed off from the midwives their care is turned over to the health visitors. She has had 2 baby appointments, one at 7 weeks and the other a group session at 10 months. That being said, you can call them at any time.
Each area will be different. I've heard complaints from some areas and then there are some counties that do things differently as well. I know in my county, they don't measure babies, but they do in others. Same with midwife apts, you may have more or less in your county than another county.
That's if you have NHS
I bet Zane would make a great big brother!
A really good board is
