So, Max still eats every 3 hours during the day, which I don't mind. BUT it means that I can't go really far from the house. I was wondering what you ladies do to warm bottles while you're out and about. I know I can stop at a fast food joint and ask for a hot cup of water, but that's not always possible. I've read about travel warmers, but most of them can take up to a 1/2 hour to get to room temperature and if that's really the case, then there's just no point.
We ALWAYS did the hot water thing when going out since Devyn never drank her milk cold or even room temperature. What we do mostly though is bring an empty bottle and a ready to feed.
I know a lot of people do what Tiana did but my kids do not get the powder (both can't handle it) but with Blake, we got him used to cold. It's the best thing ever and SO much easier. Unless it's freshly pumped, he gets both BM and formula cold. If he is not screaming his head off dying of hunger, we will sometimes warm it to room temperature.
Like pp said bring your water and powder separate then just mix when he's ready to eat.
Other options are:
Use warm tap water, I used to do this, but it became a problem when they switched all the bathroom sinks to automatic, some are only cold water.
Buy the small RTF that you just attach a nipple to. They sell them in 2oz. and 8oz. I used to take the 8oz. on flights with us after ds2 had given up b'fing, they worked like a charm.
Savannah is on the ready to feed, she couldn't handle the powder. If we are at someones house I will put it in the microwave for 12 seconds. If I am at a store or something I know she goes like clock work every three hours so I will take it out like 20 minutes before I know she is going to want it, and it takes that chill off of it.
I just nurse in the car right now. Makenzie doesn't much like the bottle yet. However she hates cold milk!!! the only way we can get her to take it is when the bottle is warm so I guess I need to check into the bottle warmers for the car
