Today, SO and I had a meeting for work from 9-4 so we got Jackson's godmother's daughter to babysit him. I was so nervous that he was gonna be mad that we left him since this would be the first time he was ever away from both of us. He did great! He only fussed when he was hungry and other than that was happy and played and stuff. She even got a cute video of him laughing at her. I think it was harder on me than it was on him. Today was a very trying day for me also because we had to talk to the managers at work about us working opposite shifts. The first one I talked to was being an @-hole and told us that there was no guarantee he could accommodate that. Then SO went and talked to him and he tried to say the same crap so he told him that if he didn't accommodate us that he would be leaving the job. He changed his tune some and told him that he could do that for the next 3 weeks but after that there is no guarantees. Then I went over his head and talked to the general manager and she assured me that she would put SO and my schedules next to each other and personally make sure that we were working shifts that didn't overlap. I'm so happy this got resolved because I was about to lose it on someone!
Glad to hear that Jax had a great day. Sorry you had to be away from though, but at least you got things at work figured out. I hope your manager gets bit by an ant for being so mean and giving no guarantees. I hope the person over his head gets a speed pass to the front of the line for making things work for you.
That's great! Are you guys doing that so you don't have to put Jackson in daycare?
yeah, daycare is way too expensive! Its only til he's 1 though because the charter school down the street from us does VPK and starts from age 1 and up.
