I know it is a very common surgery and he will be fine, BUT it is still my baby having surgery What about afterwards, did anyone's baby still get ear infections, did the tubes fall out early??? Lay it on me ladies!

Levi got tubes in the end of January, when he was only 10 months old, and it was the best decision I have made yet as a parent. He has had no ear infections since- where as before he was getting them every few weeks. He has had a few minor colds, but they did NOT go to his ears as before.

The surgery itself was only 10 minutes long. I wont lie- having to hold him while they put the mask on him to knock him out made me cry. But by the time I sat down to wait, it was already done. Expect him to cry immediately following the surgery and to be cranky a few hours after. Once Levi fell asleep, he woke up completely happy and normal. I just had to put drops in his ears for 5 days. The tubes are still in as far as I know. You go for a recheck every 3 months.

Good luck and he will be fine!

(((HUGS))) I have no experience with this but I know when your babies have surgery it's always hard no matter how "common" the surgery is.

I hope everything goes smoothly.

I haven't been on in awhile, but I remember someone's baby was having trouble with ear infections before. Maybe it was Brody. Zane was too and was going to get tubes as well, but going to the chiropractor clears up his ear infections right away. No antibiotics needed, no tubes. So I would suggest talking to a chiropractor and maybe just trying that route. A chiro doesn't prevent ear infections, but he can treat them with a super quick adjustment. And Zane's infections clears right up. So as soon as I find out he has one we just go and it is gone within a couple of days.
