Hi everyone! I've been searching for a PCOS board for a long time to meet and interact with other women who suffer from PCOS like myself. I joined another one but the site is always down and it's very difficult to post because it's extremely slow. =( But I'm so glad I found this one!

My name is Ana... I'm a military wife. I'm 33 years old. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 23. My husband and I got married when we were both 21 so we weren't in a rush to have children and I was SO young, PCOS wasn't bothering me one bit. In fact, I loved not having a regular period! LOL However, once we turned 29, we both decided it was time. I think at that point I was like, "Ok, I think you're a keeper!" hehe! No... we just knew it was time. We WANTED kids at that point. =)

Of course, I knew I had PCOS so I had to go through fertility treatments and well... we tried IUI's... clomid... etc. The only thing that worked for us in the end, was IVF. We were blessed with a little healthy baby girl in 2007. It was a very scary and hard pregnancy though. We almost lost her at 20 weeks because my cervix was dilating and she was coming out so I had to have an emergency CERCLAGE and was put on bedrest in the hospital for about 2 months. Then I was released and allowed to finish my bed rest at home. It felt so good to make it to 39 weeks! *sigh* Just remembering makes me emotional. She really was a miracle baby.

Anyway.. now we're ready for another baby. Our daughter is 3 now and we want to give her a sibling so badly. But of course, we know it won't be so easy for us. We live in a small town (due to the military!) My husband got stationed here and well... a fertility doctor is about 4 hrs away from us... so we're going with Metformin. I've heard great stories about it. I've heard the about the nasty side effects as well so I'm a little scared about that... wish us luck! We just want ONE more child. That's it. Then we're done.

Anyway, sorry for the long novel. Just wanted to give a little history about myself. It's good to know that there are other women out there dealing with the same issues as I am so that I can be there to support them and find support from them as well.

I'm excited to be here!

Good Luck, I'm new here too... I tried to go on metformin... but ugh... It caused me to have horrible GI symptoms... TMI.. but diahrea all the time... like several times a day.. it was horrible. I couldn't even work my way up to the max dose... So now I'm just praying for a miracle baby... I really hope it works for you! Btw I'm Jen (27) and SO is Matt (28). I look forward to getting to know you!

Jen

Hi to both of you!!

Welcome Welcome!!

I'm Rita (24), DH is Arthur (25) and we have been ttc #1 w/ pcos (obviously) for over a year. We had a failed cycle of follistim and 2 failed IUIs before we went on a break... In December i had Ovarian Drilling surgery done and i am hoping that with the help of the surgery and my new dose of Metformin, ill be able to get preggo. Ive always had irregular, sometimes non existent cycles, but for the past 2 months, they came on their own, no provera needed and i ovulated as well. so im being hopeful...

Ana, congrats on the miracle baby! i cant wait to say the same hehe...

anyway, welcome to this amazing board! all the women here have been a tremendous support for me! I dont know what i wouldve done without them. Please feel free to chat about whatever, we are quite the open minded bunch and nothing is TMI... our hosts, Amanda and Amber, which im sure will chime in here soon, are awesome. Everyone here is just awesome!

so again, welcome to our family!

Welcome! My name is Ashley, Im 24, DH is 26, and we've been TTC#1 for 2 years now.

Hopefully metformin does wonders for you and you can add a second miracle baby to complete your family!

Welcome to JM! I'm Jenny (26) and dh is Ken (33). We've been actively ttc since August. I'm on my 3rd round of clomid this month. Obviously no luck yet.

Congrats on the successful pregnancy! Sounds like it was rough, but hopefully the next one will be smooth sailing. Can't wait to see pics of your dd!

Hi Ana! I'm Amie (28) and DH is Alex (32), we've been ttc for about a year and a half. I have PCOS and endometriosis, and we've had two losses. I'm on my second round of Clomid right now, hoping to catch our eggie in about a week!

I came here because I found a lot of PCOS boards had a lot of negative tones to them, and my goal is to try and stay as positive as possible during the whole process! I definitely found a family here

We're glad to have you here!
