Well, here we are 6 clomid cycles and many tests later and still no bfp. I went back to the OB this morning and now our next plan is to try 3 months of Femera and continue the Met. Blood work coming up to check progesterone levels as well. I hope the Femera isn't too expensive. My drug plan doesn't cover fertility meds, but since Femara is for breast cancer and isn't actually a fertility drug who knows, maybe I'll be lucky and it'll be covered. So this month I took soy and I guess we start the Femera in April.

I was surprised actually..I figured he'd say we had to move on to IUI or IVF but I'm glad that he's letting me try this first. We can't afford the $ or time needed for IUI or IVF as it's not available near where we live and we're trying to buy a new house so all the finances are committed to that cause.

Sigh...some days I just want to give up on all of this, but we'll give the Femara a try and see what happens...

Anyone have any experience with Femara that you could share with me??

I hope the Femara does the trick... Someone on here had luck with the Femara but not the Clomid... Do you have to wait to try the Femara, or are you starting now? GL!!

I've never tried Femera but just wanted to say I'm glad you have an alternative plan and a good doctor! Good luck sweetie

I am a big fan!!! I had many less s/e on Femara than the round of Clomid I tried. I had little result from the Clomid, I just didn't respond "appropriately" to it. I got pg on my second round of Femara, plus it is known for *not* causing the "hostile environment" that Clomid is known for (drying up the cervical mucus). My current RE (whom I love) is the one that gave me the research on Femara and he's a huge fan of it versus Clomid. Also, because Femara does not cause the hostile uterine environment, it is known to have a 10% increased implantation rate!

Hope this helps, if there's anything else I can do to help you, just let me know!

Thank you everyone...and Thank You Natasha! You're giving me hope that maybe with the Femera things will be different! It would be awesome if I got the good side effects - and had fewer Clomid induced hot flashes and headaches
