Hello ladies can you please help me, I am new at all of this and don't really understand it all. I went in and took a blood test on March 8th to test my Progesterone level and the nurse just called and said it was 20.8 . She said it was really good because last cycle it was only 2.3 . March 12th I received my first postive HPT (10DPO) . I have tested everyday since then and all of them have been +. I was really concerned about my progesterone because my first pregnancy ended in m/c, is it okay to relax a little now knowing the number was higher? Does anyone know anything about what the progestrone levels should be?

Just relax... the corpeus luteum has to produce the progesterone at first, but then the placenta takes over. From what I understand when women have the low progesterone it's bc the CL isn't strong enough... Soo as long as they're ok now, you should be in the clear... the placenta should be developing...

I have what in my mind is sometimes a disadvantage... when I went through nursing school 3 years ago... all I wanted was to be pregnant... and I had a great ob/gyn teacher and rotation... So needless to say I asked like 100 questions... well maybe more.. Sooo I am a wealth of OB information... Sometimes ppl look at my when I answer questions and wanna know how I know so much since I'm childless... lol.. Oh well Eventually!

LaTisha, I highly recommend "Taking Control of Your Fertility" by Toni Wecshler. It walks through your entire cycle so you know exactly what's going on at each step, particularly with your hormones. I was so fascinated when I was reading it that I made my husband read it, too! It looks at fertility from the TTC angle as well as the avoiding TTC, which you don't usually see. Anyway, I'd definitely see if your library has it or something - good read!
